MIRACLE’S future is so bright; they may have to wear
shades!
Developers from MIRACLE Integration Systems, Inc. have
devised a flat panel flash based player with removable
smart card media that acts as a virtual wire and has a
memory card that stores 128 MB of flash based moving
text and picture content that accomplishes this task
elegantly. The first model was complete in July 2003.
The unit ships with the screen, power cord, ac adapter,
and media Gear® 7-in-4 Flash Memory Reader / Writer
w/USB cable.
The unit we reviewed was the basic 10.4 inch screen with
the capability of attaching to just about any shelf or
pole structure without the need for extra wall or
ceiling mounting hardware. The product was packaged
extremely well for shipping and took us under a minute
to set up to start seeing signage ads. The unit takes
under 4 seconds to power up and starts cycling once it
is switched on.

Built with heavy gauge metal, this unit would put a
Tonka Truck® to shame. This unit is great for high
traffic and rough indoor applications such as
restaurants, car dealerships and the new and ever so
popular restroom application where durability is a
must. Our power meter registered a low power rating
versus traditional digital signage screen solutions with
a tenth of the power being consumed (an impressive 6
watts). The outer thumbscrews gave us the capability to
change the bezel image which was a nice bonus.
Since this display has a compact, proprietary operating
system which pushes the flash file via a RISC based CPU
instead of the usual Windows® based system it is not
susceptible to crashing or virus attacks. This
eliminates the need for dedicated IT personnel, and is
able to continually churn out as many ads as your
designer can come up with. This equates to a pretty nice
cost savings over time. Actually, if you are handy in
Macromedia Flash®, then you can eliminate the designer
as well! Simply create your ad, send it to the memory
stick, plug it into the display and off you go! It’s
that simple. The real beauty of the
built-in image viewer is that
it can display non-animated picture (BMP, JPEG, GIF, and
TIFF) files as well.
