BTV+ Announces High Definition Capability

Advanced Video Codec brings enhanced coverage to CONUS, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean

MISSISSAUGA, ON, October 25, 2007 – BTV+, one of the world’s pioneers in satellite communications
and digital signage networks, circa 1981, announced today it has successfully commissioned a new suite of high-definition equipment. This encompasses a fully redundant fly-away package which includes HDTV encoders modulator/encapsulators for remote use by any SNG uplink truck, or either of its two 4.5 meter uplinks in downtown Toronto or headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario.

The launch of this HDTV capability will provide AVC broadcasting, data and business communications
throughout North America, South America, Mexico, and the Caribbean, and can also be patched into
transcontinental providers worldwide as it utilizes MPEG 4 H.264 P10 and DVB S2 standard-based
hardware. Using these standards, BTV+ can multiplex several SD channels along with its HDTV payload.

The launch of HDTV will supplement existing MPEG 2 occasional use and full time space segment BTV+
currently offers its customers, and validates its dedication to growing the business and providing robust and reliable satellite services. With increased access to a diverse array of space segment, BTV+ is better positioned to offer economically priced delivery in both SD and HD formats.“Satellite multicasting has been the core business of BTV+ since 1981” said Bill Barr, chief technologyofficer at BTV+. “The opportunity to manage our own uplinks leverages our service offering to provide uplink services, space segment, and ISP services at economical rates”.

This new AVC suite is equipped to access any satellite in the domestic arc in C-band, KU band and
Extended KU band frequencies using DVB-S or DVB-S2 standards. Presently, BTV+ has access to
satellite capacity on AMC 4, AMC 2, AMC 15, Satmex 6, and Anik F2.

On request BTV+ can engineer your total system from uplink to TVRO including installation, network
management and design, project management, installation services and ongoing maintenance. This is
backed by a world-class 7/24 Technical Care Center with alarmed monitoring capability.
